Edutainment.uni.lu is a creative platform for teaching history using technology currently in use for gaming. Based on solid historical knowledge Edutainment will use game technology to offer virtual experiences including museum visits, access to historical museum and archival collections, tours of historic places and exploration of other historical phenomena.
Members of the Historical Institute at the University of Luxembourg will develop the content of Edutainment and rely on the University’s expertise in digital technology to develop the underlying digital platform. It will also rely on advice from experienced gamers. The Institute’s Edutainment Initiative will provide a forum for ground breaking research and exchange about new ways to apply digital technology to teaching and learning history.
