The first app with a historic city guide for Luxembourg
Experience the medieval history of Luxembourg! The German mobile city guide “Die Stadt Luxemburg im Mittelalter” leads users to twenty-five points of interest of the city of Luxembourg from the 10th to the 16th century. The authors were advised by archaeologists Christiane Bis-Worch of the Center for National Archeology (CNRA) and Isabelle Yegles-Becker of the Fonds de rénovation de la vieille ville), who also curated the new permanent exhibition on urban archeology in the Musée national d’histoire et d’art.
Through an integrated today’s map, images, sound, text and film, the application provides current historical knowledge coupled with findings that could be gained from recent excavations in the area of the medieval city. In doing so, it sometimes challenges well-known certainties. A quiz allows users to review the newly acquired knowledge.
The tourguide was created on the online platform izi.TRAVEL. The app can be downloaded free of charge on the Web (PC), via a smartphone or tablet in the AppStore, on GooglePlay or Microsoft. Download now.
